Congrats!!! I would adolpt since they typicaly are cheaper AND it gives a ferret a new home. Go on craigs and wait it out a bit.
Or when you go to the petstore, Don't pick by color!!!

Congrats! Persistence pays off, doesn't it :-) What made her change her mind? Craigslist is a wonderful place to get ferrets - and you can save money to buy more ferret stuffs Pics are a must when you get him/her.

Thanks guys! I think she just realized how mature I've gotten and was happy with the amount of research and knowledge I had provided her with. We had been emailing back and for for awhile.. And I checked this morning.. And she just said yes. I was NOT expecting that! I am not sure where I am going to get one from yet, I will check MFA (Manitoba ferret association) shelter in my city, and some pet stores. I am very excited I will post pictures as soon as I get him/her home!!

Woo hooo congrats! That is great news and very exciting! So glad to see those who research before getting a pet, thats great and keep up the good work. There is so much to learn, I've owned ferrets for years and still learn new things all the time!
Hopefully a lil fuzzy from a shelter is a option for you, there are so many out there that need homes!! Also craigslist too.
Cant wait to hear all about him/her. Best thing to do now is start saving for vet bills, buy a nice cage, bedding, litter, food, ect... all the things you will need to welcome your new baby home. This is what I did, it was just great that way you have everything and can enjoy your fuzzy when they get home.

Have you considered getting 2? Katt (hurricanekatt) has an entire thread about owning a single ferret. It can be a HUGE challenge, because you are everything to them. I'll post the link to the thread in a bit when I find it.

Yeah, I read that! And I have owned a single ferret before. I don't think two is an option at this point, maybe in the future though!
