Just wanted to update! I gave Zeus a soup made of pureed sirloin steak, chicken hearts, and ground powdery eggshells. Last night I had to literally feed it to him a finger-full at a time but he ate a bowl full! I did leave a small amount of kibble in his cage overnight but it looked like he barely nibbled on it. This morning, I sat him down with a plate of soup and he went after it! Pretty much ate 75% of it at one sitting! Then he pooped on my rug! ;D No worried tho, that's what vinegar spray is for! Anyway, thanks for the advice. I know I'll have more questions! Oh, how long should I have him on soup before graduating to chunkier fare? This is my son with Zeus!

Congratulations!!! That's fantastic- you go Zeus Okay, since he took it from a bowl by himself, start working in tidbits about the size of ground meat. He'll likely just lick the soup off for now, but scruff him and pop a bit or two in his mouth so he knows that's where it's supposed to go Work the soup/ground up til it's the consistency of wet ground, and start adding slightly larger slivers of meat into the ground!

Sounds like a plan! The soup I made has some larger chunks in it, not too big but they definitely need chewing. When he gets to them he just chews 'em up, no problem! I tried to upload a pic but it didn't post.

Oh, perfect- then skip the ground step entirely ;D Go straight to adding more chunks of the same size, or even cut some up like that, and add the soup like a "gravy" on top
