Mithrandir came to live with us at just a few days short of 10 weeks. From the day he bounced in when it came to the ferrets there was no cute, no lets play...though he tried. Even at 10 weeks he weighed 35 lbs. The only time he was allowed to play with the ferrets was if he stayed laying down. Even that was too difficult for rough and play pup so the new rule was no playing with the ferrets. The ferrets sleep with him, they invite him to play, as Boris did in that video but he knows he cannot play with them. It would take a shake of the head, and I would have a dead fuzz. I promised Mithrandir's breeder that I would keep a very tight reign on him as his size was only her secondary concern. He is a hound and his mother used to bring the pups rabbits that she had caught behind the house (the breeder's house is located on 35 acres along a stream). I couldn't afford to allow a hunting breed to "play" with the ferrets. It's a risk that I wasn't comfortable with. ciao
