Not sure if this is the right place to put this, but I have a few suggestions for the forum.
1) Could we have a stickie on how/when to groom ferrets? I have no clue and I just thought it would already have been a stickie, but I didn't find it. If there is a thread somewhere, could someone point me to it please? Thanks. Also along those lines perhaps either include flea control in the grooming or have a separate stickie for flea control.
Also, it would be nice if we could have a column that tells us who started what thread and when it was started on the home page where you can see all the sub-forums and their most recent posts. If you understand what I'm saying. In some sections there IS a column that tells you that info, but not on all pages, especially the home page.
I had one more, but now I can't remember what it was so I guess that's it for now lol.

You're right! We don't seem to have that ;D Generally, I brush weekly during the year, daily if possible during shedding season. Nails, ears, and baths as needed.

I definitely agree that a grooming thread would be helpful!

But what kind of brushes etc do you use? Any particular techniques? Pics and vids would even be nice.

I am working on a "tutorial" for nail clipping.

That's a good thing to have too. But I already have that down. Do you put oil/treats on their belly? I put babyfood on a baby spoon on their belly. Less messy and seems to work almost as well. They don't seem to like olive oil OR fish oil.

I use oil on the tummy. Keeps them licking for a long time after nails are finished ;D

I do not because Kenai won't clean himself all the way. Silly thing! He thinks I am trying to kill him when those clippers come out. I usually lay the FerretVite tube on their stomachs and let them lick at it like a bottle if I am doing it on my own. Usually though Shane is around and I just make him scruff them for me!

As for grooming...what's that? I don't do much for my boys to be honest. I clip their nails and that's it. I do occasionally brush their fur when I feel like it, when they are shedding (esp Kenai the little poof), or sometimes after a bath to help redistribute their oils. I use a soft bristled brush - like a baby brush (only mine is a little more stiff than your usual soft-bristle brush). Ears I used to clean regularly when it was just Koda. Since I brought Kenai along though I don't bother - I figure they can clean each other's ears. If they look particularly dirty I will clean them, but now that I think of it I have never had to clean Kenai's ears. A small miracle considering how messy the rest of him is! ;D
