Hello everyone, I'm thinking of starting to more regularly expand my fuzzies territory outside of their room but I'm worried about unsupervised heights. For example my bed is quite high (full sized box spring, newer style mattress and normal frame) and I get really nervous when they are playing on it even when I'm present. What can be considered a "safe" height for ferrets to fall / unintentionally wardance off of?

hahaha my boys fall off the bed all of the time. It's on a standard metal frame, box spring, then the mattress and a memory foam pad. They are fine. Shane's bed is even taller and they fall off that too. His bed makes me nervous simply because there is a ledge right next to it and I worry when they hit the ledge on the way down. I wouldn't be too concerned about your bed.

You could put pillows around the bed or even folded up blankets to cushion the fall

It really depends on how they land, to be honest. In most cases, they'd be fine. Mine play in the bedroom unsupervised, and I've got a high bed, which they get on by climbing the blankets Just try to make sure there's nothing they can hit on the way down. It's about all you can really do.

Thanks everyone, they are such fearless daredevils and so stoick when something is wrong / they are hurt, it's hard to judge the risks sometimes. I think I might go with the pillows / blanket landing zone route for the first little while to make me feel better about it (I doubt they'll care ;D ).
