On the other hand, if it is adrenal, and the cyst is directly related, like the vet mentioned, it could help with it.

I will keep him in my prayers/thoughts. I'm sure everything will turn out well, I know it's so hard not to over-worry.

Sherry, How many lupron shots do you think he would need? Before any change is apparent =[

I'd say no more than 2-3 months worth. I could be wrong, so someone correct me if I'm mistaken.

It would hopefully work within about 3 weeks of the first shot, but some ferrets need a second before any effect is seen. Sinnead didn't start growing her fur back til around the 6-7 week mark.

Pooka took her second shot before there was any hair growth. Now, after her des shot she has as much coat as she ever had. She's fuzzy again ciao

Mmm so I know I keep saying this, but - Sly is getting surgery! On thursday.. I am freaking out.
I think the vet is too nervous to try the lupron shots in case this is cancer - she doesn't want to wait the extra couple months for it to maybe or maybe not work.
To top it off, I have my final assessment in school this weekend. So I am freaking out 10x more. I have to do so much for that so now that I have to help sly and watch over him double time freaks me out =[
I'm going to check and see if we have the after op. care on this site yet if not. suggestions?

My present vet always wants them fed. She says the odds of vomiting with these little ones are very remote, and they've found by having eaten prior, they seem to have more strength for the surgery itself. With Dr. Matieri, I don't think she wants them to. When I was going to that clinic, Sinnead had to have blood work done(she needs a bump sedation for it ), and the receptionist tried telling me that she shouldn't eat at least 6 hours beforehand? The vet corrected it to 2 hours.
