Oh wow! I actually had to go back a page because I thought I'd missed something somewhere along the way ;D That's fantastic! So, what exactly are they eating now for proteins?

My freezer contains: Chicken necks/wings, lamb heart/liver/kidney, adult mice and baby chicks. So only really the three proteins, I need to expand.

Still- it's looking good Maybe try pork or turkey next? Just had a thought- how easy is it for you to access rabbit? I know in a lot of areas they are considered pests, and as such, are "cheap like borscht" ;D

Turkey and rabbit.. I'll have to see when I'm shopping, I don;t think it will be that cheap here :/ Chucks or bones? What type other bone-in meals should I be trying? Pork easy I just caught Dakoda snacking on a chicken wing bone.

Good bone in foods are, obviously, chicken. You can also use CGH, rabbit, quail, duck neck/ribs/wing tips, turkey neck/ribs/wing tips, some will eat pork neck, pork rib ends, some will eat oxtail, and whole prey. I didn't include rabbit and quail as whole prey because sometimes you can also get them in grocery stores dressed for human consumption. And not everyone is willing/able to gut rabbits purchased intact ;D

Thanks for that list! I'll take a look tomorrow night. I often see ox tail, I wasn't sure about it though. I don't have an issue gutting whole prey, I'd just need to first FIND it intact, second.. have some idea what I'm doing. Here are my monsters enjoying a chicken wing this morning.

As far as whole prey goes- feed a variety of ages where possible, leaning heavily toward adults for the calcium. Simple

Okay so this weekend I was able to pick up some whole chicken carcases, wing tips, goat lungs and heart, kangaroo chunks and some meaty lamb bones. I doubt the lamb bones are going to be of any use. ): I'm still left with chick as my main bone-in protein (and whole prey mice). I can get my hands on Muscle meat: goat, kangaroo, chicken, pork, beef Bone-in: Chicken carcases Organs: Goat, beef and chicken Whole prey: Mice, rats and chicks They are both eating well, even taking wing tips as they are now. Also fine with any organs or hearts I put in their bowl. they didn't take to the kangaroo chunks overly well but I haven't offered red meat before.

You can definitely use chicken and whole prey for their bone in sources. Just round the menu out with other meats with the lamb bones, they might eat the remaining meat from them. If they are willing to do that, it's great stimulation for them Let me know how they do with the various proteins, and we'll see about getting you set up with a temporary menu

A temporary menu would be great! That way I know how much of each to buy and what to be on the lookout for. They are fine with whole prey, chicken wings and necks (I still have to slightly crush them though) -watches Chico mung on a whole neck- They love the chicken chunks and any organ placed in front of them. I just need to work some different muscle meats into the them.

AHH.. I wrote it all out and Dakoda run across my keyboard and turned my wifi toggle off. Monday - AM Muscle meat - PM bone-in Tuesday - AM Whole Mice - PM Heart meal Wednesday - AM Bone-in - PM Bone-in Thursday - AM Organ meal - PM Whole Mice Friday - AM Muscle meat - PM Bone-in Saturday - AM Heart - PM Bone-in Sunday - AM Whole chics - PM Whole Mice For now bone-in meals are only chicken and while prey, so I wouldn't use chicken as a muscle meat. I will add rats and turkey necks to that soon. I feed two different meats in the muscle meals (Goat, lamb, beef, roo, pork for now) I feed two different meats in the heart meals (lamb and goat atm, is cow okay?) I feed two to three different types of organ in their organ meals. Using lamb bones in the muscle meals. How does that sound? Does an egg a week help them at all?

Oh my gods! You've got yourself an excellent menu there ;D A good bit of variety, your heart/muscle meals, organs, and even a snack(chicks) ;D You've got seven proteins, even mixing and matching organs and heart! And yes, beef heart is fine if they'll tolerate it(it's rich). As for the egg, if they like it, great. I'd not, no big deal. Now- how many of those meats have they tried?

They will take chicken, beef, lamb and kangaroo chunks. Leaving me with goat and pork I still need to try with them. They have had chicken, lamb and goat hearts and organs, I will try beef next. As for whole prey I really need to get my hands on some more! but love whole adult mice and their baby chicks. As for bones they are doing real I still need to slightly crush them but they are getting the idea, small bones such as wing tips are not a problem
