By the way: I have tried embedding the images for HOURS today already and I have no idea what's wrong with Picasa or why I can't get it to work, but all I can get is photo links rigth now. Sorry!
Anyhow, I've been brainstorming for a bit about some new toys for the ferrets and finally came up with some things today. I also made some hammocks but I'll show those another time. Here's what I did with a 20ft tube and a wine rack (50 cents at a yard sale!):

I linked it so it wouldn't be a permanent in case they didn't like it but so car they like it fine. You could tape it or fasten it somehow. They also like climbing on the outside of it too
So then I made this:

I just took one of the large boxes for ramens that you can get at a bulk grocery store and reinforced it with tape, then taped on two cracker boxes to the sides. There were already openings in the ramen noodle box. I made a top viewing window with cellophane, but you could use saran wrap and tape that down. The cellophane is a little sturdier in case they want to walk on top of it (mine already were doing that today). I use the roll from the cellophane to make legs and taped those on, but you could use paper towel/toilet paper rolls too. Really easy, took just a few minutes. I filled it with shredded paper and jingly cat toys. They were all burrowing in it and going crazy until this happened:

Mabel peaking out of the spanish end of the cracker box:

No its not glamorous or anything but it was free for me since I had all that on hand and it is totally ferret approved
