At what point is grooming "excessive"? Also, does this symptom refer to self grooming or grooming of other ferrets? Just curious

Not knowing what your reference is I'm going to think personal grooming and that would be to the point of creating bald spots or sores. Excess grooming to another fuzz would be the same thing. This usually occurs around the neck and head area. If you watch that type of grooming closely there is usually a small scruff and shake that accompanies that type of grooming. ciao

Sorry, I forgot to mention what I was referring to. Excessive grooming as a symptom of adrenal. I know some of the symptoms can be subtle, so I didn't know if excessive grooming was also a subtle symptom.

It's considered to be, yes. And sometimes it's you, sometimes one other ferret, or themselves, or everyone. Sinnead groomed us excessively, as well as Lucrezia. Athena will do that with Zeus when their shots are due.

Did they groom to the point of hair loss? Or just very frequently?

Mine never went to the point of hair loss from grooming. It was the adrenal itself that caused that.

Okay, thanks for the input. I get worried my girls have symptoms of adrenal that I'm missing/not noticing
Luckily I think I'm just over-reacting
