Gah!!!! I barely slept last night. (Nothing wrong unfortunately very typical for me). My patience is very short this morning. Of course, this morning is when Pita decides to play her favorite game: back up to a (nonlitterboxed) corner like she's going to go, I approach to pick her up and drop her in a litter box, and she runs off war-dancing and highly excited that mommy is chasing her, rinse, repeat. I did catch her twice and put her in the litter box in the cage. I closed the door for a few minutes to see if I could get her to go in there. When I let her out, off she runs to the same random corner. While she's in the cage a second time, I turn around to see Sugar going in the SAME corner - I closed the cage so she couldn't get to her litter box *face palm*. Not to mention, she has perfectly good chicken grind for breakfast but decides licking the spot in her feeding den (box) where she likes to eat is better. She acts like I'm feeding her poison for goodness sake. I've been threatening Ferret Shaken Syndrome all morning but no one seems to care.

Oh man, that sounds like every day for me...My little fert butts will be litter trained then randomly (no reason as I usually keep them on the same schedule) just start going all over the floor. So, I feel your pain! Lol. And I know my bf does too.

Now that I've had some coffeee, I think they were protest poops because I limited them to their room this morning instead of the hallway-bathroom-room that they normally get.
I did say I hadn't had enough sleep. :-P

Aw, sorry! Ferrets are so frustrating sometimes my girls will use any corner without a litter box.

I'm definitely feeling better after food and caffeine. I've resorted to putting plastic carpet runner in all the corners where they decide is a suitable bathroom. It seems like a never ending cycle to try to keep them litter trained though. In fact, hubby had Sugar out on the couch with us a few minutes ago when she decided the couch was a good a place as her litter box.

oh no! Is the couch leather or fabric? If fabric Simple Solution from Petsmart is a great cleaner for couches, carpets and such... works on dog, cat, ferret, and children "stuff"

Pixie used my pillow once. I wanted to sleep with her - well I woke up with a piece of poo stuck in my hair!!
I was mortified, to say the least.

At least microfiber cleans up fairly easily. If I can drip furniture oil on a microfiber chair, and get it cleaned up so the client didn't even realize it had happened, the ferret poop should come out fairly easily ;D

Wow, that's pretty difficult to do, Sherry. You must be pretty skilled at what you do

What do you guys use to clean carpet? I've been using Nature's Miracle but I wonder if that's leaving behind a scent that they're trying to cover up by repeatedly going there. Or maybe it's not getting out all the scent? They've pretty much decided that the footwell under the cabinet/sink in our office is pretty much they're new potty. In fact, they will leave they're sleeping spot, cross the room (passing several litter boxes) and go IN FRONT of the litter box in that corner. *sigh*
