My little Marlee passed over the rainbow bridge tonight -- so sad. She was so tiny and scrawny and developed a gastric ulcer that took her down so quickly -- only a little over a week from showing symptoms to tonight. Her little body just couldn't deal. Because of the Waardenburg syndrome, it was difficult to tell anything was wrong with her -- she was lethargic and wobbly all the time anyway and rarely ate much. I would have caught it sooner, I'm sure, in a normal healthy ferret. Poor little girl. She was surrounded by love and hand-fed until the end. Dook in peace, little one.

I am so very sorry to hear about little Marlee DIP baby girl. And Kristin, these little wonders hide things so very well. Many times even in a "healthy" ferret, it's not caught until well established. In one with Marlee's problems, it's not surprising that her symptoms coincided with her condition

Dook in peace. Sometimes, these little ones don't want us to know what's wrong until the end, to save your peace at mind. <3 Marlee was a beautiful girl, and she appreciates your love and care as she plays on the Rainbow Bridge.

Another bright star shines in the night sky, another wee one dances her way to the bridge. A candle is lit, to guide a sweet little girl onto her next great adventure. The dark path is long but it is well travelled and there are others who are more than willing to dance and play. The trip in not hard as a new found strength and agility is hers. She stops often to look back, remembering gentle hands that brushed her fur and snuggled her. She knows sometime again she will be held and loved again, but until then she will send her love on the wind and her memories in dreams. Goodbye sweet Marlee, gentle journey little girl ciao
