Shiiva and Tito are cute!! Thanks for sharing your pictures! I think we have decided on a Bearded Dragon. They can get up to 20' maybe even more and they have pretty colors and a good personality and my husband seems okay with the idea. We are taking it slow to b/c we need to save up some money. But right now I'm getting the stuff I can for free.. Like rocks, driftwood and newspaper lol. I got some pretty, big and medium sized rocks. How can I sterilize them?

And respiratory infections! Years ago my husband accepted a seven foot burmese python from someone trying to get rid of her... He named her "Kitty" and spent a year treating her for mites and an RI, including having to give her injections, and she still passed away. Once we bought a house we decided to get another snake, but I was absolutely opposed to getting one that could eventually grow big enough to eat the cats. We went to Garrick's to pick out Darth, and ended up coming home with the milksnake too... Snake math Ah yes, the RI and the mites. I knew I was forgetting a few common ones. Raj - these are pretty common in all reptiles, so I would research them for beardies too. Shiiva and Tito are cute!! Thanks for sharing your pictures! I think we have decided on a Bearded Dragon. Definitely try to get the entire set up first. That way you can make sure that you have the temps and whatnot perfect before you bring him home. For sterilizing rocks, just a scrub with bleach water, and then GOOD rinse with water until you can no longer smell the bleach. Driftwood should be soaked in water overnight to drown any mites. I prefer a mild bleach solution, and then rinse rinse rinse rinse! Until you no longer smell the bleach. Another option is to bake the wood but I have never really dealt with pieces small enough to fit in the oven so I am not sure of the procedure for that.
