Ok so I have 4 ferrets 2 jills 2 hobs had them for just over 2 months now. First 3 weeks they were all so playful etc then the boys hormones started going haywire and I had to seperate them from the girls I even had to seperate the 2 boys at one point because one was making the other bleed trying to mate with him. Both boys got the chop on 10th Jan. Just before this I noticed one of the boys was licking and eating one of the girls poop. Now he does not lick the grate where he has pooped or where the other boys has. One time on a poo pad one of the girls pooped and he was at it but we though he was sniffing to go toilet then when we came back the poop was gone im sure he ate it because we started monitoring and he is defo licking it at least. Anyways I figured as he was just doing this to the girls poop it was hormones. Now after the chop he is still doing this I mean I know it takes about 4 weeks for the hormones to calm down but I dont get it is it his hormones or is it something else I thought they didn't like their poop so I'm so confused
Just to emphasis he only does this to the gills. Mainly one Jill who is part angora. They are all fed the same thing raw feed. Boys are about 9 months girls 1 year. All from rescue charity
