One of our ferrets has become completely smitten with two corks (like from a wine bottle; don't worry I made sure they had no wine on them). But is it okay for them to play with it? I don't let it stay in the cage when bedtime comes around and he doesn't do anything with it besides stash it. The only time he messes with it is when his brother touches them, but I don't want him to keep it if it's dangerous to him.

Unfortunately corks ARE dangerous, they’re easy to chew into swallowable pieces and present a blockage hazard. I’d suggest you take it away.

no keep them away. sorry. I have a hard rubber ball, like a squash ball, or handball, that Bobo loves and he has not been able to bite off any pieces. that is the only rubber he can have. Cork can flake apart. It only take a small bit to cause a blockage. I know...

Yeah, I caught him chewing on it (pretty quickly after I put that post up) and immediately took it away! I was watching him play with it and I noticed he had been standing over it really still for a minute so I walked over to him and he was chewing on it! But thank you for telling me because now I can make sure we don't do it again!
