We had to say good-bye to Precious, my oldest kat. She was in the neighborhood when I moved here 7 years ago, and we thought she belonged to some neighbors, who moved away without her. Then we thought that the other neighbors who moved into that house were looking after her, but they also moved away without her. Finally she started letting me pet her so I started feeding her. Last winter we discovered she was going blind, and she finally let me bring her in the house, after trying for 3 winters, and from there she was my shadow. Whenever I sat on the couch, she was there at my elbow purring away begging for attention and she wouldn't let me get too far away. This week she isolated herself on the back deck and stayed in a plastic bin without eating or drinking much for 2 days, and she had difficulty standing and keeping her balance, so I decided it was her time. She could have been 8 or 18, but someone had her spayed. She never cared for any other pets but had the loudest purr and drooled when she was happy and purring. She had it good here. Purr in Peace, Precious. You lived your life your way but allowed me in it. Precious5 by unclejoe1158, on Flickr Precious2 by unclejoe1158, on Flickr Precious3 by unclejoe1158, on Flickr

Sorry you lost her, stray cats can be so mysterious. She was likely quite old if she started going blind, I don’t hear about that in cats too often. Rest in peace.
