We Keep ferret out of bedroom--- LOL.
We screwed thin sheets of paneling onto one boxspring. Thought we'd forego all that work again and just sit the bed on the floor. Then my Phoebe tore a hole in the side of the bed. U can't call a deaf ferret out of boxsprings with a squeakie---hahaha. So now we run to the bedroom and close the door behind us before the ferret gets there.

We have a captains bed with drawers underneath. But we recently got the adjustable bases so that left a bit of space under the base, so the little stinkers have been jumping and getting under the base. So we got some thin plywood and put velcro on the end and side and velcro'd it to the base platform and the top of the captains bed. we just put them in place before their playtime. right now we only have our bedroom somewhat ferret proofed so that is the only room they have so far.
we just moved into a 2 story house and have not got all of our stuff unpacked and put away. eventually we will give them more rooms and we get them ferret proofed.

I just put mine on the floor after under the bed became a potty. I had this problem too with under the bed becoming a potty and he dug out the light fabric that covers the box spring so I put the box spring directly on the floor too. My couch, on the other hand, I had some very stretchy fabric and stapled it to the underside of my couch because my ferret dug the light fabric out and was stashing stuff in the couch. Now that the stretchy fabric is on there he can't dig it out.

I don’t know about the bed as mine is VERY tall off the ground so A. it never felt secluded enough to pee or poop under, and B. it’s too tall for mine to reach up underneath to scratch the fabric off and get inside. But the couch was fair game and after a quail carcass went missing inside of it I ripped all the fabric off, so there’s nowhere to go in there.

I did this initially too with taking the fabric off until I found the stretchy fabric. lol

Lol mine have never pottied under the bed, but I've found animal parts behind/underneath it many times. They also made burrows into our old couch, which had a fold-out mattress.
