Im at the end of my wit with litter training! They *know* they're supposed to go in the litter boxes, but their favourite thing to do is kick it out of the corner, pull the pee pad that was under it away, and then poop in the corner instead 😠Thankfully I have wooden floors so the cleanup isn't hard, but it still adds a lot more maintenance and joint pain for me to be scrubbing floors every other day. Inside their cage I just drilled 2 holes in the box and zip tied it to the cage bars, but I have no idea what I can do for outside the cage litter boxes - any tips on affixing a litter box to the corner without literally using superglue? 😅

Hate to say it, but I've completely given up on boxes outside the cage. Ferrets like to poop in corners, and to me that suggests the like to be able to see around while going. As a last resort you can try cutting down 2 sides and just leaving the remaining sides in the corner. You can use masking tape to keep the pads in place. A pain, i know, but no one said ferreting was easy. In the cage I use plastic was basins, 12 or 18 qt and clamps to attach then to the side of the cage. You can get plastic clamps at harbor freight for a couple bucks clamp by unclejoe1158, on Flickr

Luna is free to move all over the house. But her toilet is just outside our WC room , at the corner on the other side of the door opening.. She always go there , apart from sometimes that she prefers kitchen...but this very rarely. We do not use litter box,.instead we put on the floor 2 sheets from a magazine and on the top a double kitchen paper. We keep it stable on the floor with a paper tape..those we use in wall painting.
This works..fine...Aah...any magazine is suitable preferably those with harder illustrated sheets.

What kind of litterbox are you using? I like the heavier low front/high back square made by Marshalls, filled with hardwood pellets. It's just heavy enough to make it an effort to kick around. As long as I keep it scooped, they'll use it.
