I have one ferret (female) chewing on my other ferret’s (male) ear. I am going to separate them for now but they don’t like being separated and try to get to one another but I need to put something on it. Question is…what can I put on his ear to help with the healing process? It is raw around the outside edge of the ear.

If it is just the outer ear I would try sudocreme. It will help stave off infection, is thick enough to stay put and supposedly tastes icky. I have used it on healing wounds for my ferrets and no-one has got to licking it. The only problem I ever had using it was when Rocket was young and it healed the top of a deep wound and the wound being too deep got infected, but for surface wounds it works well. I believe it was originally designed for babies and nappy rash, or that's how it was originally sold here in Australia

triple antibiotic ointment should be enough. sudocrem is not available in the US but appears similar to Desinex, tho the Sudocrem website only lists zinc oxide and "an emollient" as ingredients.

I also have a pair of kits where one of them chews on the others ears while he sleeps. I do not see any redness or soreness on his ears so I think it is not that serious for my situation.
I am keeping an eye on it and hoping he grows out of it
