So I moved my ferrets to a new house and they’re in a new play area. Yesterday I cleared the room of anything they could get into or so I thought. At one point I thought I heard of my ferrets chewing but Im not entirely sure. Her last few poops haven’t looked good and now Im worried. I didn’t take her to the vet immediately because I’ve gone 3 times now for a blockage and they’ve never truly had one so I figured I was just overthinking things. Here is a pic of her last poop. Should I be worried?

Is your baby raw fed? could be that if so. If you feel like you did a good sweep of room for things---- you know, no rubber toys---no beaded eyes on them---no styrofoam bead-filled toys either.
I had a nice 3 foot silk house plant that had moss around the base and my boy got into that, and I never thought about what was holding plant in place---but it was styrofoam. I had a barium x-ray done on him. He was okay. His pooh came out like white caulking. I dug thru all his poohs that were white. I did find one of my long hairs in it and some hair balls. Well---clumps of his hair.
I do have to watch my boy----while he does not chew plastic bags he does like tearing and chewing into the package of big paper towels---like if i bring in groceries and put it on the floor. so watch out for things like that.
I have mixed a little pumpkin with some plain vaseline and gave mine to see if things would come out. Do not use pumpkin pie mix---spices in that.

The poop is dark, a bit grainy, and there's a line of mucus. If your ferret is raw-fed, the dark color is normal and means digested blood. If your ferret is kibble-fed, this isn't normal and it could mean something cut/ scraped/ hurt his stomach or throat. It heals with time, and you can give soft foods in the meantime. The little grainy texture means undigested fats and proteins. This is from stress, since you just moved them into a whole different environment. It also gets resolved with time. The mucus could be because the body is protecting the scrapes, and I don't think it's a blockage. I think your ferret could have eaten something small and sharp that hurt him, and his body is healing. If he doesn't feel sick or lethargic, it will heal over time, and he's a bit stressed with the new environment. I don't think it's a blockage because those poops are thin and hard to pass. That poop is nice and thick, so no obstructions are there.
