Oh boy, this kid ... Iggy decided he just didn't want to use litter boxes anymore. I've got puppy pads set up, but they're EVERYWHERE, literally lining the floor against the walls, lol! He sometimes decides to go on the carpet in FRONT of the pads, too, and then sometimes just in the middle of the floor, because why not, right? Sooo ... time for boot camp. I just bought another of those good playpen fences (the one I already have is dividing my space in two because Cooper still can't stand Igor), and am setting up his boot camp area. Well, he didn't like that, so he backed up next to the fence and pooped! Wish us luck (we'll need it)!

Gotta love em Sorry to hear that Cooper still doesn't get along. I've had very little luck with litter boxes outside the cage. At least i have to have pads in corners.

Thanks, everyone! He maaay be the kind of ferret who might have problems with litter boxes outside the cage ... but I'm going to be patient. There HAVE been slightly less accidents since I started bootcamp, so I'm calling that progress! I think I'm just too impatient, haha! I have to remember to take it slower. abbeytheferret6 , lol, that's just what Iggy had last night, and he made the worst kind of mess this morning. Those dang hearts ...

Well, tonight I put a litter box in Bobo's favorite corner and he used it! That could save me 25% on pads! He sleeps the day away under a cabinet and the closest corner is by the hall bathroom. I have a few boxes. I may try them in the other popular places. Pine pellets are a lot cheaper than puppy pads.

It may last a short time. LOL Maybe you might want to put one puppy pad under it in case he doesn't go in the box and just goes beside it. I know that's what Charlie does. He goes in it a short time then gets lazy and just goes beside it or in front of it.

I just found a poop next to the hall box on the pad.

Charlie has one corner where I have 3 puppy pads to go on along that wall. Lately I see him going there and not backing up enough so I tell him to back up and he actually does and then goes on the puppy pad!! LOL

I had one that did that. the litter box by the hall bathroom isn't working. Bob likes to go in the bathroom. I may move the box to his favorite corner in the bathroom. I haven't tried that with him yet

Bobo, not Bob. We're around 50% now. The cage boxes get scooped 1x/day they giet used multiple times. The hall box gets hit twice now before going on the pad outside. The box is about the same distance from their sleep spot under a cabinet as the bathroom corner he likes.

And yeah, I have puppy pads under the boxes, too. My guys tend to get a little lazy as well. That one step over the box seems soooooo tough some days. Life as a ferret is rough!
