Hello, I was researching and found some info on aloe. Many people think it's toxic for pets, but it turns out that only some parts of it are, and that you can use the inner goo of aloe for pets, which has many healing properties. The edible type of aloe is called Aloe Vera (barbadensis). This is the aloe that you can use.
The part that is toxic is the skin of aloe and the yellow goo right next to it. You can buy an aloe leaf and skin it yourself to get the good, clear goo. If you have aloe in your house, you can use it for your ferret too. The gel you get can be rubbed on scars and the skin, or you can feed a little bit of it for a laxative effect and these benefits:
Soothes and treats skin conditions Wound & insect bite healing Burn treatment & cooling Treat frostbite Kidney stones Anti-bacterial Anti-inflammatory Topical pain relief Repairs cellular damage and reduces scarring Immunostimulant (Acemannan) Digestion (nutrient absorption) & digestive system injury Heals ulcers Normalizes blood sugar Protects against radiation exposure Dietary supplement of antioxidants, polysaccharides, enzymes, protein and minerals. May prevent cancer and tumors (Alo A)
Thanks!
