my vet's tech did say that ferrets could get covid, but did not seem concerned that they would catch it from my ferrets and they were on lock down at the time. Did not ask if they had the vaccine to give either. Both of us got Covid . We were stand-offish with our ferrets during that time, and they came thru ok.
My husband donated blood and they found covid antibodies---we did not get the vaccine. Antibodies were still lasting(about 5 mos or so).

I think the verdict was that ferrets can catch it and spread it, but thee symptoms were not as dangerous in ferrets. I don't believe any of the ferrets that had it died.
The reason for the vaccine was due to the primates at the zoo getting infected.
I don't think they will be releasing the ferret covid vaccine to the public.
