I got prescribed ondansetron for my ferret to control her nausea, due to the cancer in her stomach. I'm giving her a dose of 1ml every 24 hours. The medication is strawberry flavoured. I asked my vet if the strawberry flavour was ok, and she said the sugar would be negligible with the dose she is on. I looked around and people seem to say avoid artificially added flavour. Does anyone have any experience or comments on this? Thanks

Hi. We have used chicken/poultry flavored meds for years. It's artificial sweeteners that can be toxic, as well as most human-safe pain killers. I'm sorry she has the cancer.
