Otto is going on his 8th year and was a rescue from a couple that was feeding him unbalanced raw. he took to a balanced raw transition right away.
Since september of 2020 Otto has had growing Lympnodes all over his body.
His lympnodes recently have gotten huge, and we had him on pred for a few months, we took him off of it because he started having IBD and was sick and lethargic, once we weaned him off the Pred he bounced back. Now the lyphnode in near his throat has gotten even larger. I was thinking a few months of good quality of life is better than 3 - 4 months of being miserable on Pred
he has always had a good appetite and is still pretty hefty. He has more good days than bad days.
the Vet gave him some injection to take the place of the pred to see if it helped with his IBD. He did not have IBD anymore but he had a nasty hack for about a 2 weeks after the injection. He would eventually stop hacking right about the time he needed his next injection. After 3 rounds of injections we stopped getting them.
we switched to giving him salmon oil CBD and salmon oil echinacea alternating with Salmon oil and reishi mushroom powder. we started this in late November of 2020.
Now we are in May and he is still having more good day's then bad. He still has his days where he is really lethargic but he always uses his energy to eat and still has a healthy appetite. He still loves his human contact and still seeks us out for loves. He is a fighter. I have had several ferrets with lymphoma that did not even last a month after diagnosis and they never really had a sign of enlarged lymphnodes.
He really wants to live and as long as he is still having more good days then bad days I will let him continue his fight.
