Hello all! I am new here. My noodles name is Loki. Loki just turned 1 in May, and is just a ball of love and energy. I have had him since September 2020. He is currently the only one I have. I am looking for another one. If any one has good information on where to find another ferret, feel free to comment or message. I have unfortunately reached a lot of dead ends. People have also tried to scam me. Loki is currently eating origin red cat and kitten, Nature's Instinct ultimate protein, and Nature's Valley FDR. He loves bacon treats for ferrets! I did try a raw diet, but he refused to eat it. I know kibble is not the best, but I would rather him eat than starve. I signed up to the HFF to seek answers for things I may not be aware of being a ferrent. This is not my first ferret, I grew up with them for most of my life. Everybody please feel free to message me with any important info that will keep my furbut healthy and happy!

Hi welcome to the forum I imagine you have looked into already but are there any ferret shelters in your area?

I have looked into shelters. Some of them are extremely picky about rehoming ferrets. But most of them don't have any that are up for adoption. Most of the shelters around here are ones that care for sick ferrets. And they're not ready to go to new homes yet.

Welcome to the forum. yeah it takes some patience to try and switch them to raw. Yours would probably need to start with soupy. If you ever want to try again let us know and we will help you I get my ferrets off craigslist as well as Petco but they have not been selling any lately.

Thank you! I actually just got loki to eat raw egg last night! I was so excited, it took me six months, but I was persistent. I saw that you're supposed to start with soups, but wasn't sure how to make the soup. After last night, I think it's very possible that Loki can eat a raw diet. From everything that I've read, it just seems like it would be so much better for him. I did just purchase new kibble, probably enough to start the transition. It will be very slow though, because I am transitioning him from one kibble to a better kibble.

Hello and welcome! I wish you luck in your search, it can be tough finding one through big stores even, let alone rehoming. I would think Craigslist or Facebook are the best places to look without having to sign massive paperwork.
