Hey, I'm needing to seek advice immediately. My ferret Veil was fine last night but when I woke up and checked on him, he wasn't able to use his hind legs/ dragging them behind him. He also isn't able to control his bow movements and is not eating or drinking rn.

Do you have an emergency vet you can see? Please please get him in immediately--hind end paralysis can be any number of very serious problems--spinal injury, serious infection, advanced cancer--and it must be treated as soon as possible, especially since he is not eating. I imagine bloodwork and X-rays will be some of the tests that will be run.
Feel free to post here and keep us updated, but please do get help from a veterinarian first.

Already got him into a clinic. I'm hoping it's just a infection, poor baby isn't even a year old yet.

Man, I am sorry about that. Yes that is unusual as you see hind leg dragging in older ferrets. I hope all turns out well for him---do let us know what vet says.

First off, sorry for the late update. We got him home about 4 days ago and everyday he's been approving more and more. We're having to spoon feed him right now. He is eating just fine, but he only eats when we spoon feed him. He's not acting sick anymore. Basically the doctors don't really know what's causing his paralysis in his back legs. They did a CT scan and found a mass near his spine by his lower end towards his legs. They took multiple samples of the mass, they didn't find any cancer cells or bacteria. They only found dried blood cells. So they think he had some kind of fall where he landed wrong on the back area and had a hematoma form. They don't know if he will get his motor function back in his legs, but he has been lifting his tail and he does feel pain in his hind legs.so overall, he's doing good, we have also ferret proof the areas that they were able to get that are high up.

Goodness! Poor baby. I certainly hope he keeps improving!!
I think there's been ferrents here on the forum who have had reason to get their fuzzies a mini wheelchair--may be something to look into if the paralysis persists.

wow. I've heard of injuries caused by falls, even in a tall cage. www.petco.com/shop/en/petcostore/product/kaytee-ferret-home-plus it is encouraging that he can move his tail. some ferrents have had good success with hydrotherapy, as long as the fert doesn't freak out being in water. Try placing him in a couple inches of WARM water and see how he reacts. it he's ok with it, try about 3 inches of water. You want to have him just buoyant but able to touch bottom. be there and talk him thru it. eventually work up to 5-6 inches of water. Ferrets don't tend to like water, but they are great swimmers when necessary. The idea is to get those legs moving. Has his bowel control improved any? if he doesn't get his legs back, look into Ferret Flyer wheelchair www.facebook.com/groups/137564440151335/
