Hey everyone, I come to you very confused.
Misio is my oldest ferret, about 8 years old now. He doesn't have adrenal (that we know of), but he's on Des for preventative measures. He's been pretty healthy his whole run!
In January, Misio was diagnosed with insulinoma -- he had a many of the symptoms (weak back legs, "stargazing", tremors, lethargy, a BG of 50), and Misio was put on Prednisolone. The vet also recommended an ultrasound because Misio had a large tumor on the pancreas we just wanted to make sure wasn't something else. When he came in for the ultrasound (last Monday - Feb 15th), his lymph nodes (abdominal) were enlarged, which was confusing, because the vet said that shouldn't happen on Prednisolone? Here's where things get confusing for me, because I haven't really had contact with the vet since.
I've wanted a copy of the ultrasound results, but I haven't gotten anything. I called today, and they finally emailed me (after 5) Misio's medical record ... but it was a blank sheet of paper, basically, with the words "no results". The vet herself called me an hr or so after the actual ultrasound and sped through a couple things -- way too fast for me to understand what was going on, and I couldn't write anything down since we don't live where the vet is, and she didn't pause for me to get someplace I could sit down and find some paper (she was very busy that day). I asked if this would all be written down for me somewhere, and she said yes, it would be on the ultrasound results ... which would be great, but it's been over a week, and I haven't seen anything. My ferret is dying, and I would like to know what's going on.
So I've come here out of desperation. I don't know if you'll know anything, but. What I remember from the phone call was this:
There's a ferret specialist up at the U of M Madison - I went to get imaging with her before with Kinga, but ah, I've forgotten her name (I'm on a lot of """doping""" medications and I have autism so retaining information if it's not written down is NOT a strong point), but I could call and find out. I wanted to call her once I got the ultrasound results and see if we could have a zoom appt -- perhaps a 3way call, but again ... I'd really like to have those ultrasound results!! I'm not sure what's taking so long to forward them. I'm just feeling frustrated and hopeless because he's struggling and I don't know how to help. Has anyone had these symptoms before -- together? Or have any advice or words of wisdom for me?
thank you!!

So I've come here out of desperation. I don't know if you'll know anything, but. What I remember from the phone call was this:
- BG of 120, so she doesn't know why Misio is still having so much weakness in his hind legs; could it be adrenal disease? she was going to give him another Des implant, since it was time (but then she didn't? And I can't get ahold of her. I'm so frustrated and confused.)
- he has a small ... kidney, I think it was?
- lymph nodes were large, but she didn't think it was lymphoma, so I'm not sure what's going on with that
- she was mostly confused as to what was causing his symptoms, and if it really was what we thought it was
