Blimey, what a night. Our two girls are just 19 months old and for all that time I have never had much in the way of health scares, until last night! Went to have some floor time with them yesterday early evening and Ladrona came bounding out as normal but Bandida was nowhere to be seen. Found her curled up in her bedding, and initially thought she was just dead sleeping. She did however stir but was very lethargic and definitely not herself.
Got some water into her including some sugar solution, but no better. Fast forward to around 3am this morning and she was very distressed and my guess was that she had a blockage, so out came the emergency pumpkin and vaseline. A very anxious 90 minutes later she passed a very watery stool with what looked like a piece of rubbery material (god alone knows where from).
She is much better now, but off to the vets in 20 mins to have her fully assessed.
You never think it'll happen until it does and I am so very thankful that I did my research before getting them and had a full emergency kit on hand ready.

It is so important to have everything you need to hand! So glad you did, and hoping your little one is going to be back giving you heart attacks in no time

Update: Bandida was given the all clear from the vets earlier and has been about 90% today. maybe she's as tied as I am having been up all night.
Yes, best advice is to be prepared.

I'm glad it worked out ok. I lost a very much loved ferret to a blockage.

Glad to hear that your ferret is so much better and you were fast thinking. Great little story to have here on the forum.

Glad Bandida didn't have anything serious and passed the tiny rubbery material. How's Bandida doing now?
