Hey guys, I need some help, I am worried about my ferret's poops today, his poops were normal yesterday, but today they look very strange and I am not sure if it's blood or not, I'm pretty scared. He has eaten only bone-in meals today. Minced chicken thigh and some rat ribs (I smashed the ribs to make it easier for him) he has been eating these types of bone-in meals before and had no issues. Please take a look at the pictures, I highly appreciate any help or guidance you guys can give me! He is 2 months old, his energy levels have been completely normal, he plays around like crazy, dances around, dooks, laughs, he is acting super happy and active. He is drinking water normally, peeing normally, his appetite is crazy like usual. (tummy with teeth) Thanks in advanced guys! colgar imagenes gratis

They are some funky looking poops, looks more like organ poops than bone-in ones. They were rushed out of the system with some not fully digested material in some kind of upset gut reaction. I wouldn’t be too concerned if it only lasts one day though, just keep us updated on how this progresses. If it keeps up you may want to have a fecal panel done at a vet’s to check for bacterial overgrowth.
I don’t see any blood personally, just diarrhea water and bile- the bile is green one. Blood from the intestines is bright red, like from a cut. Blood from the stomach is black, as it reacts to the stomach acid. When you have a brown color, even fairly rich, that tends to just be diarrhea.

Hey guys, thanks so much for your response. Yesterday night his poops were back to normal and today he has also been doing a lot better, so I'm feeling a bit more calm. Lol, sorry! this is my first ferret so I got freaked out by that poop. I appreciate your help

Sounds good, glad to hear it! Some days they just poop bad. There may have been some bad bacteria on one of the foods that caused it, but their digestive systems are strong and short, so they generally get over it without contracting food poisoning.

Their poops will vary with different proteins and organs. lol You will get to know what each poop is and don't be surprised if you check out the poops all the time too. It's always a check to make sure the ferret is doing well. lol
PS Love your profile picture of Chandler too!!
