Has anyone had this situation and had the spleen reduce in size after the Deslorelin implant?
My little one has a HUGE spleen. And adrenal. And unregulated blood sugar issues (which is why no implant yet. Trying diazoxide sole-therapy. She can’t tolerate pred at all. Made her diabetic...which doesn’t happen, pretty much ever.)
She’s a unique little one, that’s for sure! Thanks in advance.

My ferret was at the vet in August and she said that my ferret's spleen was a little enlarged too but the edges didn't feel abnormal. He went for his yearly check up and just turned 3. I have to take my ferret to a different vet to get the DES implant because my vet doesn't do them right now so when he was at the other vet she never noticed his spleen being big. Not sure if the DES implant reduces the size of the spleen because he got the implant after the first vet. The spleen filters the blood and also aids with the immune system so your ferret could have an infection and that could cause an enlarged spleen. From talking to others it seems that ferrets tend to have enlarged spleens. Definitely keep an eye on it and checked regularly with the vet. By the way, that is a very cute avatar picture!!
