I thought Baytril was enrofloxacin? Used to be at least, maybe they changed the drug. Both are broad spectrum and used heavily for mystery infections, as they kick out nearly everything. I hope Little Bear’s digestion gets better soon.

Charlie I'm not able to do full raw because I have busy and erratic schedule and I wouldn't be able to keep proper and regular feeding on just raw. Some weeks I leave for work at 3 A.M. and others I work closing shifts in the evening. I would like to go to only raw but I wouldn't be able to make sure that they are getting all that they need and on time. I don't want to cut out raw because kibble only brings hydration issues and also just because they love raw. I make sure to give them one meal of raw a day, the time depends on scheduling. They've done very well on this for a long time. It's not what I ideally want, but it's what works best for now. unclejoe That's fine. Some I know but others like Metro I don't. Little Bear is doing better and she ate pretty good on her own this morning rather than having to be spoon fed. I hope that keeps up. She's still pooping green though. I'll definitely see about a test to try to find out just what it is.

Corvidophile I really don't know most of them. She is getting a little better and eating more and on her own but still not to her full appetite and still pooping green.

Yeah kind of hard to be consistent with feeding schedules with work all over the place. Glad to hear they love raw so that is good!!

How many ferrets do you have. If I were you I would offer dry FDR nuggets like Stella and Chewy instead of kibble between raw meals but I can imagine that could get expensive if you had more then one or two ferrets. Idk just an possible solution. My ferret loves dry FDR nuggets. Just make sure if you do this your ferret has access to a water bowl instead of bottle so they don’t get dehydrated.

aliandcookie I have three ferrets in total. I have tried freeze dried but they didn't take to it very well. However that was a long time ago when I was still introducing them to raw and it is worth trying again. Thank you for reminding me of them. I have a good update on Little Bear. She's eating more and on her own without prompting. While not normal, her stools are no longer green. Slowly but surely she is getting better.

Thank you everyone. I think it will still be a while before she's normal again but she's far from where she was before. Hopefully she'll put weight back on pretty easy. Any advice for helping her with that?

Maybe try carnivore care. I’ve never had to use it before but I keep a bag of it around because it’s high calorie and I hear it can help put weight on sick ferrets. Maybe an egg yolk a couple times a week. My go to when my animals aren’t eating well has always been chicken flavored baby food. I’ve never had any of my pets turn up their nose at this. My ferret once ate so much in one sitting he made himself sick because he likes it so much and when my little old dog had surgery this was all I could convince him to eat for nearly a week. I buy Gerber chicken and gravy because the only ingredients are chicken, water and cornstarch. No added salt or anything weird.

I have the carnivore care but she hates. I'll ask my vet about the others tomorrow to see which one is best. She does love eggs though so that won't be a problem.
