What is his normal diet? If raw, You can try mixing in some wet cat food just to get him to eat. it's too late tonite, but a/d cat (from the vet) is minced fine enough to mix with a little water and feed by syringe

Did he eat too fast? Also, did he throw up on the same food he ate the first time? It's a possibility he may have a food sensitivity to what he ate then threw up? What did he eat before the egg the first time?

He's on raw, his diet is chicken wings/thighs in the morning, and in the evening beef/pork/lamb or heart/liver/kidney depending on the day.
He just had his usual food before the egg,he threw up hours after the egg, and all that came up was liquid
Second time (a week and a day later) was maybe an hour after eating and he threw up solid chunks of meat
Again hes been doing fine since and eating and playing as per usual - but today *neither* of them would eat their chicken wings ?
Because of the vomiting I got beef, lamb, and pork ground together because it's easier for him to eat than the chunks and I hoped it would digest faster too. Now today they would *only* eat the ground meat, no matter how many times I offered the chicken wings they'd just stash it and like ? lick it and the walls nearby ? but never eating it Even when I replaced the unbeaten chicken with a fresh batch they still wouldn't eat it They went hungry for the first half of the day instead of just eating the chicken.. which they have every day
I've also been ringing the vet every day leaving messages and he hasn't gotten back to me at all which is incredibly frustrating, I have no idea how every single time I call no one is at the desk

Got a response from the vet yesterday and I have an appointment on Monday at 10.30am, also caught Fax gagging this morning and I gave him a tiny bit of Vaseline and the gagging stopped ? I'm starting to think he may have some hair in his throat or something rather than a blockage

The reason why I asked what meat he had eaten before he threw up was because he may have a food sensitivity to that meat.
Sounds like your ferrets don't like chicken. My ferret would turn his nose up to chicken so I stopped feeding the chicken and replaced that with turkey necks and backs. He will eat turkey but not chicken. He wouldn't even eat chicken hearts so I changed that to beef heart. Your ferret could be the same way. I wasn't going to force him to eat chicken if he didn't feel good eating it or got sick on it.
I still have 5 sources of different proteins with turkey, beef, pork, rabbit, and mouse and sometimes lamb. I wanted to make sure he got enough bone in meals so his bone meals come from turkey, rabbit and mouse and some pork all smashed up.
Keep in mind that not all vets will agree with raw feeding. The vet may tell you not to feed raw. They are concerned that most people will not feed their ferrets properly with a raw diet and lack in nutrients with no variety in foods.
If you think it's a hair have you tried looking in his mouth?

Update: New vet, who's both an exotic vet that with ferret experience and a nutritionist says he's happy and healthy (if a little chunky) and just wants me to bring a stool sample to make sure he doesn't have any sort of parasites that might have made him puke

huh. every time I bring a ferret to the vet, even more than one, they always provide a stool sample right there in the exam room.
