Aww She is beautiful! I believe in reincarnation, so I say maybe it is your little Penelope, finally finding her way home! Perhaps name her something similar, like Penny? I am sure she will tell you her name. BTW: IMO you are a "hoarder" when you can no longer provide clean living spaces, proper diet, and the daily and veterinary care that your critters need, be it 3 or 30.

LOL. But doesn't she even look like Penelope? Not exactly but VERY similar. she even has a brown and black swirl on her side like Penelope did. And even the white feet with the orange tabby looking markings on her thighs. OH and BTW Katt, I got some swheat scoop multi cat litter at the pet store so we'll see how it works.

Congrats, and she is beautiful And from the look on her face, your home is the one she both needed and wanted I also happen to agree with katt on the definition of a hoarder. If just the number of animals is what counts, then so am I. We presently have 12 animals, and will likely be moving up to 13 if a little friend for Zeus and Athena can be found.

She's beautiful. I love calicos - the cats that can't decide what color to be. Oddly enough, I too had a calico cat named Penelope (Penny for short).

awe, she's quite adorable. i do believe in reincarnation as well. i believe my joe(rip) found his way back to me. i also couldn't let this guy go. i was crying in the pet store for my mom to let me have him. reminded my of joe in every single way. except the way he looks ;D joe was a sable, punk is a sandy. they both act very similar.
and no, your not a hoarder. ;D i have five currently. two cats, three ferrets. probably more too come as well ;D ;D don't you just love the math. ;D

Or maybe something like Chloe too

So I think we settled on a name. Nelly. It sounds like Penelope with out being Penelope. I gave her a piece of beef last night (it was on the menu for the ferts so I gave her a piece) And she ate it! One thing I'm worried about though is I haven't seen her go to the bathroom yet. She's eating and drinking fine. Is this something I should worry about or am I just missing her going to the litter box? I don't remember any cats I've had before going this long with out using the litter box.

I think I'd start checking elsewhere for hidden "oopsies". Some cats Ana kittens can be stresses by the change of settings, and try to hide when they have to potty.

Aw the name Nelly is perfect! Could be she is stressed, or has found a "Secret" litter spot that yo have not found yet...

I just saw her go in the litter box. Poo too! I haven't found any other spots she might have gone. I've kept her in the living room/dinning room/kitchen area until I was sure she knew where her box was. So I've been keeping an eye on her. I think she did hold her poo this long til she felt a little more relaxed. But I think I was just missing seeing her go pee and was a little worried cause I don't think swheat scoop clumps the same way reg cat litter does. Katt, does it clump in smaller pieces? Cause when I checked the box there where small clumps but not large ones. Any way, she's going to the potty fine. and she is proving to be an awesome cat and seems SO much like my Penelope. she's a kitten yes but there is a regal maturity about her like Penelope had. She's playful and funny. And has already bonded to me. She slept with me, and she even comes up out of no where to curl up on my lap. She has done GREAT with the kids too. She's a little scared of the ferrets, but she'll get used to them. When I let the ferts out last night, she stayed curled up on my lap and watched them. She then got bold and and jumped down and they were like "OOOOOO NEW PLAY MATE LETS PLAY!" and she freaked and jumped up to the top of the little steps I have And Stanley and NoName in their infinite wisdom went chasing for her. It took her popping them 3 times each in the head before they got the picture. I think she'll fit RIGHT in here. And thank you for all the complements. She's an awesome cat.
