ok guys, so i have a very frustrating update for everyone that is curious on how chompy (my remaining ferret) is doing. I am happy to report that he is doing well, eating well, and actually playing with me a bit. in general he seems VERY tired but he is on pain meds so that is probably why. he is also going to be put on prednisolone to see if it helps at all.
about the biopsy: i found out today that because they did a needle aspiration on a bone tumor (very very stupid) they didnt get any conclusive results. which i am very heartbroken and honestly pissed about. They offered to do an actual biopsy (which shouldve been done in the first place) at a discount, but i decided not to. I would rather put more money into him getting re-implanted with however much time he has left as he is due for another DES implant for adrenal. I am focused on making his however many remaining days as full of love while being as comfortable as possible
needless to say, i have unfortunately lost my faith in vets at this point. there have been so many countless times where a vet's incompetence has left me out of money and feeling like i have been scammed/taken advantage of.
of course i will still take my animals to the vet, just be careful about trusting them just because they seem to be educated on stuff. go with your gut, you know more about your pet than anyone else ever could. i will post any developments on here.
i dont know how much time he has left. i am seeing regular behavior and he is very willing to eat and drink and play so that makes me hopeful. but it seems like the growth came out of no where (very fast) which is also worrying to me. only time will tell. i am now focused on loving him and making him confortable. when the time comes to let go, i will.
thank you to everyone who has helped me and given advice to me over the years as a ferret owner, i have become vastly educated about pet health as well as knowing how to advocate for my pets and educate myself.
