So I noticed it with my girl Ruby first. While she had her summer coat her tail really thinned out and went almost bald. It was only about halfway down the tail. During her next shed she grew the hair back and now she is about to shed again, but it doesn't look like her tail is going bald again. The second is my abnormally small girl Matilda. She did the same thing and now that she is about to shed again she is growing the hair back. Both girls are completely healthy otherwise. Both fat and happy. They eat probably more than my boys and their poops look great. I plan to make a vet appointment when I can but I was curious if anyone else has experienced this?
Edit: Ruby is 2 and Matilda is 1.5 years old

My Annabelle would get thin hair on her tail. It never got bald, but you could see the pink skin thru the fur. She never got adrenal disease as I asked the vet to check her adrenal glands during necropsy. She died at 6.5 years old(pancreas related death). Here is something on adrenal disease. Hair loss could be just seasonal related and not adrenal. Always have dark places for your little one. Do not expose them to lights at night. I cover the top part of my cages with dark material and have dark bins for them to sleep in during day too. It is just a little something we can do. holisticferretforum.com/health/adrenal-disease/There is other info to read if you are worried about adrenal Click on the HFF Website title above and go to Health.

I'll definitely look more into it. They have plenty of dark places(they are free roam in their own room) but I do live in Florida and only have a curtain for their window. So today I'll use something to darken the upper part of the window so it's darker in the room. I never use the light in there unless I'm cleaning. Even at night if they are playing I'll turn the hallway light on if I'm in there with them but beyond that it's only light is from the window. Being in Florida though it can get pretty bright.
