Hey there! I transitioned my 9 month old ferret Nugget off kibble and onto a raw diet. I figured I’d start off with whole chicken grinds and raw chicken neck. As well as supplementing egg and salmon oil. He eats all this up fine. I heard that It is best to feed at least 4 different types of meat but my nug will only eat chicken! I have some rabbit, duck, turkey, and beef in the freezer for him. Any tips on getting him to eat other meats or suggestions based off the diet I feed? Thanks!

Salmon oil can cover the flavor and scent of new foods quite well, this is how I transitioned a stubborn beef only eater- add salmon oil to ground chicken mixed with ground meat of some other type and go REALLY slow, start out with like 90% chicken 10% other ground meat. Keep increasing the ratio, then once the ground version is being offered fully add in small chunks of the whole meat. It takes time for picky eaters but don’t give up hope!
