Hello! My daughter just got her first ferret, whom we have had for about 3 weeks. She is young, probably only about 3 months old. She is amazing and we love her like crazy already. However, she is eating everything soft in her cage. First it was a stuffed animal getting torn apart, then her fleece blankets, the underside / canvas like material on a hammock, t-shirts...she gets all kinds of playtime outside of her cage every day. We made a dig box for her, she has a crinkle tube, and lots of time running around a large unfurnished room we have. So far she is pooping it all out but I don’t know what to do. I read that they like to chew on the fleece so we switched to old towels and t shirts, but there are now holes in the t shirts. Do I have to leave the poor thing with just paper towels or newspapers in her cage? Is it her age? My daughter is having to prove responsibility with this one before we entertain adding another. She is eating dry food right now - we can’t take on the raw diet. Thanks so much for any advice.
