Noticed blood where Winnipeg was walking and flipped him over to find this, I don’t know whether it’s a tumor or a blood blister. Whatever it is came about somewhere in the span of two weeks, when we last clipped his nails and would’ve seen it. Calling the vet tomorrow. What do you think it is?

Looks like a blood blister. Did he pinch his toe in his cage or anything? Definitely keep an eye on that and keep checking it doesn't grow or that it dries up like a blood blister would.

I got another person saying the same thing to me last night as you so I decided to wait about the vet and see if it fades in a few days. Thanks!
I don’t know if he pinched it or how it happened, the cage I have doesn’t have any small pinch points.

How's it looking now? Has it gotten bigger?

No bigger, but just as black and tougher, like a callous.

if it were a hematoma caused by an injury, it can take a while to break down ad get absorbed. 5 days tho...

Took him to an emergency vet over Memorial Day weekend to get a med refill, and had them look at the toe while he was there. They don’t know! They say it’s either a blood blister or tumor just like we’re guessing about. It’s gotten hard on the black area over the last few days but hasn’t grown or shrank. Keeping an eye on it.

Wow, interesting that they don't know at the vet's. Well I know when I have pinched a finger in something and have gotten a blood blister and haven't popped it, the blood inside dries and hardens. Let's hope that it's just a dried up blood blister.

It's an odd place for a tumor. Bu i would think a blood blister would have been absorbed by now.

Whatever it is, it doesn’t hurt him. When I squeeze it there’s no reaction. It might be numb even from the lack of reaction. They did say that if it was a mast cell tumor it was likely benign and possible to scab up and fall off only to reform later, and if it was surgically removed it was likely to reform too. Freaky. But as long as it can’t spread internally I guess it can stay.

At this point I think it's best to leave it be. Booboo had a tumor on his head, and we had the vet remove. Within a month, they started growing all over his body, and 3 months later he was gone. Last year, Yoshi had a similar growth on his face. I tied it off with a piece of dental floss to cut off the blood blow to the tumor. In about 10 days if dropped off and didn't grow back. These were not mast cell tumors, but more like skin tags. The MCTs we've seen were disc shaped, without much of a bump. Just keep an eye on it for changes

The toe currently: Looks and feels like a hard little pebble that’s gonna fall out.

That looks like it has changed. It looks darker. It looks bigger too but that could be just the angle of the picture compared the the first one.
