Hi all, I have three ferrets and one of them decided to stop eating the kibble. He was on Marshall, I know its a bad one but that’s the one he used to like. He is 2 years old and it took me 2 days to notice that he wasn’t eating at all. I got worried and got the zupreem kibble and he started to eat again (but I couldn’t make a slow transition). After that I made my researches about the kibbles and learned that they can’t eat only one kind, which one is good and with is bad… ever since he started to eat zupreem his poop looks like this. i gave some duk soup to try to regularize his bowl but once I stopped the duk soup his poop came back what it was before and with what I believe is some blood. What can I do? I want to take him to the vet but all this covid is making everything way more difficult. I live in Toronto, do you know a good vet here? “Animal hospital high park” and “the links road animal and bird clinic” I don’t really like them… P.S. 1 he is acting completely normal, just eating less and the poop… Rabies shots were 2 weeks ago P.S. 2 I already bought 2 other kibbles (nature variety raw boost and orijen regional red ). Nature variety he didn’t like it and the orijen I didn’t receive it yet. Last thing, they refuse raw

Try and switch off the Zupreem when you are able, that’s a bad reaction poop, it shouldn’t look anything like that on kibble. On kibble, you expect firm logs. That kind of loose poop on kibble can dehydrate them quickly. I’d suggest going backwards to Marshall’s again and then slowly transitioning to a better brand. Mix the duk soup into wet kibble.
What’s your experience feeding raw been like so far? What methods have you tried? A lot of ferrets are afraid of it at first, don’t fret too hard if they refuse at first, it takes time.

The only problem is that he doesn’t eat Marshall at all anymore. I was giving zupreem just because he needed to eat. I have orijen and nature variety raw boost now but he is not eating them much. Took him to the vet and they believe is only because of the change in the kibble too. I’ve tried chicken hearts, liver, chicken, beef, fish... none of my ferrets like it. Only one when she was younger would eat some.
