Hey guys,
I purchased Grizzly wild Alaskan salmon oil for my kit but he doesn't seem to be taking to it. I tried the scruff and stuff method the first few times but he doesn't seem to care for it, so now I just mix a couple drops into his food a couple times a week. I know that ferrets can be picky at first and that now (he was born 1/5/20) is prime time to introduce him to new foods. Should I keep up with the oil? Has anyone here any ferrets who don't care for it? Is mixing it into his food less effective than the scruff and stuff method for this purpose? For that matter, how much should I be giving him each week? He weighed 904 grams the last time I took him to the vet (on 4/6/20) for reference.
Thanks!

No, mixing it into food is perfectly fine, and less stressful really, so just give it time. The recommended amount of oil is no more than 1 teaspoon per week (spread out over the course of the week, not given all at once, or you'll definitely have upset tummies to deal with!). That guideline applies to any age. I measure a teaspoon into a little eyedropper bottle, that way I get a visual estimate.

Thanks for your reply, caitmonster!
Awesome. I'll just keep adding it to his food then. Works out for me better anyways. He tends to smell fishy after I try the scruff and stuff method since some inevitably gets on his lips and nose. lol
