It does sometimes look like less food when going from kibble, but keep in mind it’s ALL food now, no fillers or carbs bulking it out.

Wednesday Pm - Heart was a hit i didnt blend it straight away but did mince it up a little bit
Thursday 02 apr AM - the crushing of the bone i done before with the chicken wing paid off, again he ate the "whole" thing filling up after around 1oz leaving some in there for later, i am genuinly curious to see how he handles liver and kidney tonight.
unsure how i would handle putting egg into his diet ill most likley feed along side his main meal as a treat.

I would not advise giving egg after a heart or organ meal LOL. Stools are lose to soft with those two meals. U can give as a snack around noonish or a mid morning later in afternoon ---no rules though. You can give the egg yolk only or beat both white and yolk together and serve. Might be a bit much a whole egg. If you can find quail eggs those are nice too. We have a Harris Teeter that sells them----but not all their stores have them.

Yes i found how loose stools ca get when i fed a organ blend to my friends ferrets as a treat, the panic attack that ensured after going on the colour and looseness, i think afternoon might be a good time as a treat , how many do you reccomend a week baring in mind he gets chicks at the weekend too. and early to late afternoon might be a good time for treats in general may help ease me into the idea of feeding twice a day as it is my major worry that he is "starving" between meals. its like now, he ate all his food at 11am (my time) its now only half 4 and has 7 more hours to go without food though i understand raw meat is more filling for longer.

Should be no more than two chicken eggs a week. One is probably better if he’s already getting chicks since the nutrient profile of them is similar to a big yolk.

Yes good point corvidophile. I have been reading about rickets in juvenile ferrets too--- not enough calcium. Too many muscle meals---so calcium in those meaty bone meals are important.

Whoaaa, why did I say that??? Must have been in a brain fog.
I should have said---- I would feed egg after a bone in meal. If you notice on the the frankenprey diet, all soft meals are followed by bone-in meals. I know at first you just got to get them eating raw, so everything will not be perfect. Did not want to leave bad info here.

Haha thats fine im always living with brain fog, and yes ive noticed that, i could start giving him egg on mondays as he gets bone in both for meals, as the chart for balancing Frankenprey and alternate meals say that with 2 alternate he needs 8 bone in meals, i plan to completely get rid of chicks once theyve been eaten so he only gets 1 egg a week rather then 2, and he has a habit of eating around the bone sometimes so having mon as bone in day works quite nice.

So its been almost a week since he completely switched (offical switch was Wednesday) done my best to keep regular uploads on here but with other animals it has been hard to keep a daily log, but i think ive done okay, he is eating his food like a champ, still struggle with bone in as he sometimes likes to eat around it specially with duck wings so need to crush them. and tries his luck at getting into the food bag for the other ferrets im looking after. coat change not noticed much yet, but his energy has skyrocketed hes gone from 30min playtime to an 1-2 hours straight before wanting a powernap, even making me think about adding him a friend when he is castrated. he has gained weight and feels heavier i will do a profile update when the new scales arrive. his poops seem moist but soild mostly however today ive noticed they have been seedy ive dragged an image over wether it uploads i dont know, if it does ignore the darker poops they were from the night before. he has had chicken wing today so im guessing its the bone? postimg.cc/V5SV0hc0

Sometimes the “grains” are undigested fat and starch complexes. Hearts and organs make dark stool. With mine--- any bloody stuff too or dark meat. oh you will find little bone shards too when they eat bone. If the grains mash and are soft then those bird seed looking things are not bone--- If it happens again note what he is eating. If it happens often not good but mine gets this every once in awhile. One website said this--- Generally, seedy or “birdseed” looking poo isn’t a major concern. But, if it is continual then it can present a problem (because the ferret’s body is unable to absorb nutrients, so it basically starves itself). Here is something holisticferret60.proboards.com/thread/14630/seedy-poop
