hello! so i am new to a both ferrets and hff, so any advice outside of this specific question will be greatly appreciated!
in a few months i plan on bringing home a pair of rehomed ferrets (aa they're so cute), and wanted to make sure what i plan on feeding them is a-ok!
basically i would feed them a whole-prey diet, along with eggs, freeze dried beef, and salmon oil. the specific whole-prey i plan for the; quail chicks, chicks, rats, and mice (switching between each animal between meals so it's more balanced). then adding a little bit of moistened fd beef on top of that. then once a week they'd get a whole get and a bit of salmon oil.
i'm not quite sure if this would be good or not for them; please please let me know!!
also, how much should i feed them? i don't know their ages and haven't met them so i don't know how big or small they may be. i heard 1-3 ounces of food per meal (since they're both female), and two meals a day? just would like any advice on feeding, i'm a bit lost haha.
edit: i think i might also include rabbits and other animals now looking at the options in the u.s.

Hello Badgerrpops, welcome to the forum and congrats on soon coming ferret family. Above you will see HFF Website. A wealth of info is there. Click on that, and it will direct u to another page. U will see a lot of headings, and when you scan your mouse across those---dropboxes will appear. Great, great info for newbies at those pages. Doing that, I went to this site holisticferretforum.com/natural-diet/raw-diet-the-meat-of-the-site/It shows you how to switch, how to make the frankenprey diet, and how to incorporate alternative meals with the frankenprey diet, which is what I do. Of course you can do all alternative meals too with enough variety. So about the quail chicks and chicks---they are considered a snack. One person has suggested considering them an egg as day old chicks absorb the yolk, and there is a yolk sack inside them. I have burst a few and it does run yellow( a member from the Uk enlightened me to what that was and the info is on the internet as well). About eggs, forum suggests one a week, and when shedding---two. I really don't know how many chicks per week would be the limit. They are not mature, so they are not considered a meaty bone. Just guessing, I would say 1-2 a week. That is what I do when I have them. Mature preys provides more nutrition. Their meaty bones clean ferrets teeth and gives them calcium for their bones. You can order the adult quail from Hare Today or get them from the Asian store. Asian stores generally always have frozen quail. And when giving mice u want them to be adults. Feel free to ask more questions.

Definitely reduce the amount of chicks to once every couple of weeks. You can look at adding in adult quail, rabbit, etc.
