So I unexpectedly got another ferret today. Everytime I need supplies from the pet store I hold the ferrets I just cant help my self. So to make a long story short...While doing so today someone walks past and says "I have one for free my kid doesn't take care of it" so me being me wanting to see it taken care of I pick it up. I've always wanted multiple ferrets just didn't know it would be this fast. I have 2 already but I just wanted some tips on warning signs during introductions. But in full honesty I had my daughter holding our new girl(no name yet) while I let out weeble and wobble so I could put the divider thing to separate the cage well the little kit wiggled herself free(nails need clipped) and they played together great dooks and all for a good five minutes until I separated them. I hear I should keep them separate incase of illness.
I guess my question is if they seem okay together and new girl has no obvious signs of illness, no green poo, is it okay to just let them be together from the get or give it time?
Can I let them play outside the cage and have them sleep separately for a few weeks?
Any advice on these questions or anything I didnt mention when it comes to adding a newbie would be soooooo appreciated!!!

Congrats on your addition. I have 4 and if someone said they had a free ferret that they would give me ---oh yeah, I would gladly take it.
Some people do a 2 week quarantine. Maybe a vet checkup for ear mites and a fecal would be fine? Others who are more informative could answer better. I did buy a baby that had earmites and had to treat everyone. So a checkup is great if you have funds. while i do have an exotic vet for mine. I also go to Petco's vet---nice that it is a walk-in and reasonable.

I do a two week quarantine not just for illness, but to give the newbie time to settle in to a new place.
