My ferret just threw up a few times. Liquid food, no bile. He was heaving and pushing it out.
History: Kijiji ferret that likes to run backwards and lay down upsidedown at the gate and sometimes middle of the room. He was almost hairless when we got him and now he has a big fluffy coat. Hasn't eaten anything new. Had a normal poop when he woke up at 6:30 and then 15 mins later I found him throwing up... And then trying to eat it. They had ear mite medication on January 7th
After his throwing up he snuggled his brother for about 10 minutes, woke up itching, played with his friends and now he's eating at 7:20.
Here's more fun: the couch they have has a slanted back so I stuffed a bunch of blankets behind it so they don't poo back there and it's they're sleepy place. That's where he started throwing up so I removed the blankets, removed him.. came back once he stopped puking and saw that one of my ferrets learned how to get into the couch through the cover. (It's an Ikea couch. Flimsy material covered with a thick cover zipper in the back and velcro along the bottom. I am now sitting behind my couch almost crying because I only woke up to pee and I saw a litter box flown everywhere and my boyfriend had to leave for a little bit and I am fighting off the ferrets from the known weak spot. I want to go back to bed. Save me

If he is eating and otherwise acting normally now, then I don't think it's serious. The only thing I can think of is perhaps he ate too much/too fast, or possible allergies. I would monitor him for the rest of the day if you're able. What a morning to have to wake up to, though! Hope it gets better for you.

Lol I never got to go back to bed. He may have eaten to much. He ate a bit a few hours after and now they are all sleeping. I have temporarily figure it out my couch situation. I'm going to be watching him for the rest of the day and tomorrow to make sure that he's okay.

He could have possibly had a hair in his mouth and threw up from that too. Just keep an eye on him to make sure he doesn't throw up more.

There's been no throwing up but he has been pooping. My stepson had the 24h stomach flu last weekend. I didn't fully get it but I did have a groggy stomach. He wasn't allowed near the ferrets and I made sure I washed my hands and arms when I went in their room to pick up poop. Could he have the flu from last weekend?
By last weekend I mean January 12th

There is a possibility he could have got the flu. Was he out running around in the same room where your stepson was? Your stepson may not have been in the room at the time but if he was in there and touching stuff and the ferret was in there and touching the same place, quite possible.

No. The ferrets are free roam to their own room and I didn't let them out last weekend because I wanted everyone to stay away from them except me to only do cleaning and food. I'm very cautious when anyone gets sick. Especially when it involves throwing up. They also aren't allowed in my stepsons room because he's 11 and makes slim and plays with Lego lol. I also don't go in his room for this reason 😂

Ok so it wasn't the flu then! Awesome that you keep everyone so separated. Yeah, wise to stay out of a room with slim and lego! Those hurt your feet! lol
Has your fuzzy been ok and the throwing up stop? Was it just the one time?

It was about 5 times but it was in a row. There was no more throw ups and he just acted like it never happened. It was really scary for me lol I was crying because my boyfriend left the house and I had no way to get to an emergency vet.

Charlie had done that too before. He ate his food and basically threw it all up!! I think he either ate it too fast or there was a hair stuck. But it only happened the one time and he was fine after. If he hasn't thrown up anymore and has been acting fine then he's probably ok.
