Hiei is doing well trying to change her wet food over to something better than The bland cat food from the vet. She only has a half to a spoon full 2x a day. And her vet agreed for long term she need a kitten wet food that meets the diatary needs for a ferret. It's strictly to mix with her meds so she dosent eat much of it. She is eating her waysong 90 ferret kibble like a champ. She put on . 2 lbs for a tiney thing that's very good!

Hey all hiei has been doing very well these past few months with her meds she even put on a lil bit of weight which the vet was happy about. However I not have a new problem she is not useing her litter pan. I have not changed brands, I keep the box clean and she just keeps going in front of or near it but not in it and I got so tired of the mess that i resorted to a washable puppy pad to put in front of where the litter pan is. Like some times she goes just fine but like that are 3 or 4 misses a day and now it's messing chii up too. Idk why or what to do -_+

What about just using your puppy pads? I do use both but more puppy pads. I use litter boxes in cages during the day and night and a few strategic places. However most of my litter boxes are cut down in front and I use paper towels in them. i did this long time ago(cutting down the fronts of litter pans) when they had issues--- like IBS with Abbey.
Is chii a cat?

Chii is my other ferret. Hiei is just going on the floor wherever she is and barely gets on to the puppy pad most times. She is refusing the litter boxes now and idk what to do

Do you have several litter pans and pads about? Like i have 5 places between my dining room and living room for my ferret to go in---most are in corners but some not. I wonder if you could put ur ferret in a Marshall 8 or 11 panel playpen during day for several hours with a couple of potties in it and start training her like that? u can put her pooh in it to let her know where to go.
It has taken my waardy a few years to really get good at going to potties. She is a Blaze I do not know if that has something to do with it or not. Hubby seemed to always step in the places where she went.LOL He is the early riser .
Hope someone can give better suggestions.
Does she have digestive issues like a lot of lose stools?

They have their own room and have 3 big litter pans when they go. Thing is she goes on front of or next to it now. She has loose stool cus of prednisone for her inslanomia. I put the washable big puppy pad under and around the one litter box she isn't getting into. I tried switch the pans around but it's the spot not the pan took a week of trip and error. Thing is she usually is a trooper for litter pan use and the pans are clean. But I think she is getting sicker or just old age and can make it in time. Iv watched her and she b lines for the liter box but then just stopped and went. I may try to replace the pan but even the vet is confused.
