Hiya guys, just thought I'd ask here as everyone else I've asked doesn't really have a clue and the vet says Freya is fine as well. Has anyone ever known a ferret to only gain 30 grams of additional weight in winter? I'm not worried as such but I do find it very strange since non of my previous fuzzies gained so little winter weight, they all got mega plump. And Freya doesn't feel or look underweightt despite the fact she hasn't gained much winter weight. It's her first winter though so is that why maybe? Her weight before winter was 740g but her current weight is 770g

I think the fact that she looks healthy and is behaving normally is the important factor here. Our two girls are both in their first winter, and have only put on around 60g each, so I wouldn't be concerned too much.
For me, it's when they drop weight that I get concerned. After they had their Jill jabs they both lost around 150g literally overnight, but it is a big dose of hormones, and messes with them a little. Within a couple of weeks they were both back up to their normal 950g (ish).
Cheers
