I shot some bottle rockets and firecrackers off the front porch last night, maybe 5 minutes, around 8 PM. Come bed time, around 930, I couldn't locate Goober. It's not uncommon for him to be last out of the cage morning and evening, so he usually is up later, along with Lilly, and it's also not uncommon for him to be the last one found, esp in winter mode. So I went to bed assuming he was sleeping somewhere. Well, this morning, he didn't show up for treats. Searched everywhere, and went out in the cold with a flashlight and calling his name. No Goob, but a few minutes after I came in, dar24 found him on the back deck eating out of the cat dish. We have ferret fencing around the front porch, but the gate had been left open, and I never heard or saw Goob while I was launching class c explosives. He was probably sleeping in the cat bin on the deck, which has warm blankies . Never thought to check it. Glad I take him out for walks so he knows his local environment.
