Heather's got a point about those bites. One of Willow's bites hit a nerve, and did some damage to my thumb that still acts up on me.

Please do not take a ferret bite lightly...consider this (I don't want to scare anyone, just to make you think) most of your little ones crunch through chicken wings, chicken necks....how thick are your fingers. A ferret bite is not something to just brush off. It's one of the reasons why, I teach my guys not to bite humans at all. A small child could easily get a crushed finger or knuckle from a full sized ferret, so can any one of us. Not many of us can claim that our fingers are thicker than a chicken neck. A scared or angry ferret can easily bite to the bone, can easily crush through a knuckle so please be very careful and take care when your little ones are sick, scared or injured. Their jaws are meant to choke or sever the vertebrae of their prey. ciao

I didn't even have the chance to take care of myself. There was so much going on. I couldn't wash up. My hubby and I showed up at the ER covered in blood. Once he was at the ER taken care of and I went home, I could wash up. None of the bites look like they are getting infected, and they are less sensitive and swollen today. But thank you for the concern, and believe me, those bites were not brushed off! They hurt! The way he lunged at me, reminded me of a snake. There was just nothing I could do at the time, Bomber could have bled to death and that was far more pressing.

Also, glad ya'll liked the pictures! I'm supposed to take his bandage off today, but every time I think about doing it I get paranoid that he'll bleed again. Maybe I'll leave it on one more day, just to be sure.

I can understand being worried about taking it off after everything you went through. Glad your bites seem okay

You know something Morgan? You did just the right thing. AND you are one heck of a ferrent There are a lot out there who wouldn't go through what you did to help the little one(bites).

Awww, shucks guys. Thanks for that, I am still getting over the shock of this whole thing. And so is Bomber, he's still mostly sleeping today but his gums are looking pinker and the swelling where they put the IV in has gone down. Still eating and drinking and pooping. lol. However, he's got another chipped canine. He must have chipped it on the ride home from the vet yesterday. He has some serious cage rage issues. The chip isn't too bad, and I'm just going to keep an eye on it. I will be buying a soft-sided carrier to prevent him from damaging himself in the future.
