Hello everyone so I have a 5 month old girl and she's been on a frankenprey diet for 3 months and she just loves it but this week she gave me a scare and I know it was a freak accident but still I'm wondering if anyone has any similar stories like mine. So I gave her 2 oz. of rabbits chunks with bone in chopped into small pieces for Tuesday breakfast everything was fine until she started making a weird noise so I went to check on her and it seemed as if something was either stuck in her throat or on her tooth she was also using both paws to scratch at the roof of her mouth so I picked her up and noticed that the bone was stuck on her back tooth under her tongue as I went to get help so someone could hold her as I pry the piece off, her mouth filled with blood like a scary amount..she looked so terrified poor thing I literally started to cry I felt so bad the second we got the piece off and cleaned her up a bit she was totally normal and started eating again as I'm trying to pull myself together lol anyway long story I'm just wondering if anyone had a similar story or advice like I said I think it was a freak accident but thank you for reading this long story (:

I had a few similar moments in the earlier months with our two girls. I found that you just need to be super careful about the size of bone fragments, especially with rabbit as their bones can be very sharp.
I found the same thing with Lamb ribs.
At 5 months their teeth and jaw muscles are still developing, so that needs to be taken into account.
One good point from an experience like this is that you all survived it and have all learned from it, so should it happen again you'll be better equipped to handle it.
They do give us some scares along the way, but its so worth it.
It does happen. As they gain experience, they are generally able to dislodge stuck bones on their own.
