Missy is my notoriously bad pooper. She constantly goes near the litter box or in whatever other corner she close to. I use puppy pads to lessen the rouge poops but I moved to a place with carpet and the mistakes are taking their toll on it.
She is weird with pooping though. It’s almost like she doesn’t have complete control over her bathroom time. She constantly has “false alarms” where she’ll back up and wait and then not go or just take a little piddle. And she will do it again and again until she finally goes. Or she’ll be going about doing her thing and then just poop wherever she is (weird places like in a tunnel or in bed or as she’s playing)
I haven’t sent her back to litter box boot camp yet but it’s getting to the point where I’m going to have to do something. Missy and Ellie have always been free roam and I would feel really bad keeping her in the cage
She has a lot of trouble with eating bone too and gets painfully constipated with sharp little bone shards. I feel awful when it happens and Im afraid that it’s damaged her poor little bum. I try my best to make sure Ellie gets the majority of bone in foods but I’m not perfect. She doesn’t have hemorrhoids but I do put a mix of glycerin and epson salts in her area when she’s having difficulty

It does sound like damage was done with the descenting they do to them at such a young age. This isn't uncommon, and unfortunately in some cases leaves permanent damage where they have trouble with complete comtrol. Something that might help is using JUST potty pads in the areas where she goes. Also, pick up something called Spot Shot. Works REALLY well on those stains www.spotshot.com/products/14-oz-pet-aerosol/

I would be tempted to vet to find out that her prolapse isn't causing some of her issue I had a wee lad with a prolapse and the damage caused the prolapse itself caused incontinence. The strange backing up and re-adjusting could be caused by the constipation. If she's constipated she's getting too much bone in meats. What are you using as bone in meats? ciao

So do you think that there is anyway to treat it or help her regain some control over her pooping? It happens no matter what she’s eaten before and I’m not sure if it’s related but she lets out huge farts every time (adorable because she is a total princess)
Would you think that changing to a more consistent meal plan help? I get my bone in meats from cutting up whole ducks, chickens, and turkeys and I make sure that every meal only has a few pieces with bone that I (originally) give to Ellie to eat. It seems like pretty much any bone she gets isn’t digested. I was thinking of just making them a complete soup to eat for every meal but I’m not sure what to do with the amount of bone meal to put in it
The biggest problem with her incontinence is when I let them out of my room to play. I wait until missy has gone to the washroom first but there are still oops poops

Would you please post what she is eating? Is it possible she's not actually consuming a lot of the bone you are feeding? Many are more than capable of eating the meat off the bone, while leaving the bulk of the bone.

For Am it’s always bone in meat. I alternate between duck (low bone) turkey (low bone) and chicken (higher bone w/chicken necks and back) I’ve been trying to mix the chicken with chicken gizzards to give Missy more meat but she still ate too much the other day. Poor girl eventually passed a poop that was basically just bone pieces. She was obviously in pain and it cut up and inflamed her bum which is really got me thinking about wether or not it was causing lasting damage and her weird bathroom behaviour. It doesn’t help that she really seems to like bone too and often eats up the half eaten bone that Ellie leaves, sneaky girl
For Pm I’ve mixed it up a bit with a 50% organ (liver and kidney) and 50% ground pork soup 3 times a week because Missy (again) would throw up the 100% organ soup. Then I do a hearts 2 times a week and muscle meat (gizzards or pork) 2 times a week.
My concern is that Missy does her weird bathroom thing no matter what she eats. Wether it’s with bone or soup or hearts or muscle. At first I thought it was territorial because she would go around to all the litter boxes and try to go/urinate a tiny bit until she eventually decided to poop in one. Or she would poop in what I thought was a vindictive way. Like if she got into trouble she would just back up wherever and poop or if she wanted to go outside she would stand by the door and take a poop right in the middle of the doorway.

The protest poop is VERY real And I think I remember something about her not being able to have nearly as much bone as the others due to constipation, isn't it?
